Debris Bypass Risk: Never operate the pump without the basket properly seated. Running without a strainer allows large debris to lock the impeller, leading to motor burnout.
Pressure Safety: Always turn off the motor and relieve system pressure by opening the filter's air relief valve before opening the pump trap lid.
Manual Handling: Use only hand force to tighten the pump lid. Using tools or over-tightening can crack the lid or the entire pump housing.

  • Flow Check: Empty the basket as soon as you notice reduced flow or a significant rise in filter pressure. Rinse with a hose to clear fine silt trapped in the mesh.
  • O-Ring Care: Inspect the Trap Lid O-Ring every time you clean the basket. Apply silicone-based lubricant to ensure an airtight seal and easy removal.
  • Seating Accuracy: Ensure the basket is pushed straight down onto the internal manifold. A tilted basket creates gaps that allow leaves to bypass the strainer.
  • Avoid Cracks: When emptying, do not bang the basket against hard surfaces. Cold weather and chemical exposure can make plastic more brittle over time.
