Where It Goes
The user interface is the heater's control panel, the display and buttons under the flip up lid. It replaces the panel on your JXiQ heater and plugs in with its wire connector. One kit fits the JXiQ 200, 260 and 400, including the ASME compliant versions. Check the heater's rating plate first.
The Heater Control Panel
The user interface is the panel you use every day. Its display and buttons turn the heater on, switch between pool and spa, set the temperature and show status and fault codes. A dead interface can leave a working heater with no way to turn it on.
Replace A Dead Display
Replace it when the display is blank or garbled with power on, when buttons stop responding or when a technician traces the fault to the user interface. Many problems start elsewhere, so rule out gas pressure, flue, water flow and sensor faults first.
- JXIQ USER INTERFACE KIT - The Jandy R0988800 is the complete user interface kit for Jandy JXiQ gas pool and spa heaters, models 200, 260 and 400, including the ASME compliant versions. One part number fits all three sizes. Check your heater's rating plate first.
- THE HEATER'S CONTROL PANEL - The user interface is the front panel you use every day: the display and buttons that turn the heater on, switch pool and spa, set the temperature and show status and fault codes on the JXiQ 200, 260 and 400.
- REPLACE A DARK OR DEAD DISPLAY - Replace it when the display is blank or garbled with power on, when buttons stop responding, or when a technician traces the fault to the user interface. Rule out gas pressure, flue, flow and sensor faults first.
- JXIQ ONLY, NOT JXI - This kit is for the JXiQ series. The older JXi heaters use a different user interface kit, so match the model on the rating plate, JXiQ 200, 260 or 400 in natural gas or propane, before you order.
- TECHNICIAN INSTALL RECOMMENDED - Turn off power and gas, note each connector, swap the kit and reconnect, then restore gas and power and test every mode. Installation by a qualified pool heater technician is recommended. In the box: 1 Jandy R0988800 user interface kit.
