Installation & Component Swap
Step 1 (Prep): Unthread old Air Relief Valve and Pressure Gauge. Clean all male threads with a rag and remove old debris or Teflon tape.
Step 2 (Sealing): Apply 2–3 wraps of PTFE tape clockwise to the valve threads and 3–4 wraps to the gauge threads. Lubricate the valve O-ring.
Step 3 (Assembly): Hand-tighten components into the new lid center port. If the gauge is crooked, add tape layers rather than over-tightening.
💡 Pro-Tips for a Perfect Seal
- The O-Ring Secret: Always clean the main tank O-ring and apply non-petroleum (PTFE) lubricant to ensure a vacuum-tight seal and easy removal later.
- Inspect the "Seat": Run your finger along the rim of the bottom tank half; a single grain of sand can prevent a perfect seal.
- Startup Safety: Keep the Air Relief Valve open during startup. Stand back until a steady stream of water purges all trapped air.
- Chemical Caution: Avoid storing corrosive pool chemicals next to the tank, as fumes can weaken the thermoplastic over time.
