E-Z Weld 212 Enviro Purple Primer is a low-VOC solvent blend engineered to soften and swell PVC and CPVC pipe and fitting surfaces before cementing, delivering a deeper, stronger solvent-welded joint. Its highly visible purple tint provides easy code-compliance verification that primer was applied prior to gluing. This 32 oz (quart) can is ideal for pool, spa, irrigation, and plumbing installations, and comes with a dauber-cap for controlled application. It's NSF-listed for potable water systems and works on any schedule or size of PVC/CPVC pipe, though it's especially recommended for pipe over 3" in diameter.

Special Solvent Blend: This primer is a special blend of Solvents formulated to soften and swell PVC and CPVC Pipes and Fittings, penetrating the surface of the pipe and fitting to help provide a stronger joint.

Recommended for Larger Diameter Pipe: It is highly recommended for installations larger than 3" in diameter, and is rated for use on SCH 40 pipe up to 12" and SCH 80 pipe up to 30".

NSF Certified / Code Listed: This product is tested, certified and approved by NSF International for use on potable water and drain, waste and vent systems, carries the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) seal, and meets ASTM Standard F656.

Wide Application Temperature Range: Rated for application and storage temperatures from -10°F to 110°F (-23°C to 43°C).

Low VOC Formula: Formulated to a maximum VOC content of 398 g/L per SCAQMD Rule 1168, Test Method 316A, for regulatory compliance in low-VOC regions.

Installation & Compatibility

Application Method: Apply a liberal coat to the outer surface of the pipe end and the inner surface of the fitting socket using the dauber supplied with the can or another suitable applicator; do not puddle primer into the socket, and do not wipe it off before cementing.
Working While Wet: Apply the appropriate solvent cement according to the cement label instructions while the primer is still wet.
Pipe/Fitting Compatibility: Formulated for use on all PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings, in all sizes and all schedules.
Cap & Applicator Differences: Pint and quart cans are supplied with a dauber inside the cap, while gallon-size cans are supplied with a plain cap only and require a separate applicator.
Staining Precaution: Purple primer will stain most materials and cannot be removed once dried, so protect surrounding work surfaces, clothing, and skin before use.
