⚠️ Critical Filter Maintenance Warnings
NO PRESSURE WASHERS: Never use a high-pressure power washer to clean pleats. This will tear the polyester fibers and allow dirt to bypass the filter and return to your pool.
CHEMICAL HAZARDS: Do not use flocculants or clarifiers unless labeled "cartridge-safe." These chemicals can coat pleats in a sticky goo that is nearly impossible to wash off.
ALGAE WARNING: If your pool has a live algae bloom, the cartridge will clog extremely quickly. Kill algae with shock first before relying on the filter for cleanup.
💡 Professional Maintenance Tips
- The "Rotate" Rule: Buy two cartridges. Keep one clean and dry while the other is in use. Rotating them allows fibers to "rebound," extending lifespan by up to 50%.
- Pressure Gauge: Clean the cartridge when the tank pressure rises 8–10 PSI above your starting "clean" pressure.
- Degrease First: Always soak in a filter cleaner/degreaser to remove body oils before using an acid bath. Acid can permanently bake oils into the fabric.
- Check the Core: If the inner plastic core is warped or "fuzzy" fibers appear, the media is breaking down. Replace immediately to prevent pump strain.
