9 lb Dynamite Pool Patch Surface Preparation
The SGM Dynamite Pool Patch is a high-strength, polymer-modified pressure waterproof mortar designed specifically for underwater or dry repairs of pool finishes. This fast-setting formula allows you to patch cracks, chips, and hollow spots in plaster, Marcite, or Pebble finishes without the need to drain the entire pool.
Key Product Features
- Underwater Application: Specially engineered to be applied and cured while submerged, saving thousands of gallons of water and chemical balancing time.
- High Bond Strength: Features a polymer-modified blend that creates a superior chemical and mechanical bond to existing pool shells.
- Fast Setting: Rapid-cure technology allows the patch to harden quickly, preventing "wash-out" from pool circulation pumps or bather activity.
- Versatile Surface Prep: Ideal for filling "pop-outs," repairing delaminated areas, and sealing structural cracks in both residential and commercial pools

The Ball Test: Roll the mix into a ball. If it holds shape without sticking to gloves or crumbling, it is ready for underwater application.
?? Critical Safety & Application Warnings
- Surface Prep: Use a chisel to remove "drummy" or loose plaster. A clean, solid substrate is vital for a permanent bond.
- The "Dive" Method: Carry the patch ball to the site inside a small plastic bag to prevent "trailing" (clouding the water) during the swim down.
- No Mechanical Mixing: Hand-mix small batches with a margin trowel to avoid whipping excess air into the mortar.
- Avoid Over-Smoothing: Stroke only a few times. Excess troweling underwater causes cement paste to float away, leaving a weak, sandy finish.
