Pressure Spikes: Operating above 30 PSI puts extreme stress on this core. If pressure is consistently high, clean your cartridge immediately to prevent the thermoplastic from snapping.
Avoid Force: Never "hammer" the core into place; it should slide easily into the bottom manifold. If it resists, check for trapped sand or debris in the receiver.
Chemical Exposure: Do not pour concentrated chemicals (like liquid chlorine or acid) directly into the filter tank, as this weakens the polymer structure over time.

  • The "Seat" Check: Ensure the cartridge sits flush against the bottom manifold. A tilted or unseated core will prevent the tank lid from closing, leading to leaks.
  • Cracked Core Warning: Inspect ribs during every cleaning. A broken core can cause the cartridge to crush inward, allowing unfiltered water to bypass the system.
  • Scale Removal: In hard water areas, calcium scale can clog the ribs. A quick soak in a mild white vinegar solution will clear the slots and restore full flow.
  • Sizing Restriction: This core is specifically for 50 sq. ft. models. It is too short for 75, 100, or 150 sq. ft. systems and will not support larger cartridges.
