Warnings and Disclaimers
- Electrical Hazard: Disconnect all power at the main circuit breaker before installation. This unit controls high-voltage circuits that can cause death or serious injury.
- Correct Terminal Wiring: Ensure the hot wires are connected to the proper terminals based on your input voltage. Improperly wiring a 120V neutral to a high-voltage motor terminal will destroy the clock motor instantly.
- Grounding: The enclosure and mechanism must be properly grounded according to NEC standards to prevent electrical shock in wet pool environments.
- Load Limit: Do not exceed the 40-amp rating. Attempting to run equipment beyond the 5 HP motor rating will cause arcing and permanent switch failure.
💡 Pro-Tips for Success
- Universal Fit: This mechanism fits into almost any Intermatic T100, T170, or T1000 series case. Just press the release spring at the top of the old timer to pop it out and snap this new one in.
- Tripper Tension: When setting your schedule, ensure the gold tripper screws are tightened firmly with pliers or a screwdriver. If they are hand-tightened only, they can vibrate loose and the pump won't turn on.
- Motor Check: After wiring, look through the small "visual motor check" window on the front of the mechanism. If the gears are spinning, your clock motor has power and is working.
- Manual Testing: Use the silver manual lever at the bottom to test your pump or lights without losing your place on the 24-hour dial.
