Pressure Monitoring: If filter pressure exceeds 30 PSI, the inward force on this core increases significantly. A cracked core can snap under this load, leading to a total filter failure.
No Force Required: The core should drop into place easily. If you have to "hammer" it or use body weight to seat it, there is likely debris in the manifold that needs clearing.
Avoid Harsh Acids: While chemical-resistant, soaking in high concentrations of muriatic acid for long periods can eventually make the thermoplastic brittle.

  • The "Seating" Click: Ensure the cartridge seats firmly into the bottom manifold. A tilted core prevents top alignment, allowing unfiltered water to bypass the media.
  • Calcium Inspection: In hard-water areas, scrub the narrow slots occasionally with a soft brush to prevent calcium "bridging" that restricts water flow.
  • Lubrication: Apply a tiny amount of silicone-based lubricant to the bottom of the core where it enters the manifold to prevent sticking due to grit buildup.
  • Sizing Restriction: Specifically engineered for 100 sq. ft. models. It is too tall for 50/75 sq. ft. tanks and too short for 150/200 sq. ft. systems.
