Ensure the electrical safety and code compliance of your swimming pool, spa, or water feature with the Perma-Cast PB-2008 Water Bonding Fitting. The National Electrical Code (NEC) requires an intentional electrical bond between the pool water itself and the equipotential bonding grid to prevent electric shock hazards. This fitting provides that essential connection.
Constructed from non-corrosive solid brass (bronze), the PB-2008 is built for long-term durability and resistance to harsh, chemically treated water environments. It provides over 10.6 square inches of conductive surface area in contact with the water, comfortably exceeding the NEC requirement of 9 square inches.
The fitting is easy to install in a return line, skimmer line, or a dedicated tee anywhere below the water line, using standard 1-inch NPT male threads. A Burndy-type split bolt connector is included for a secure connection to your #8 solid copper bonding wire (wire not supplied).

💡 Professional Tips
- Thread Sealant: According to Perma-Cast instructions, use Plumber's Pipe Dope or Teflon Paste to seal the 1" NPT threads. Do not use Teflon tape.
- Avoid Air Traps: Install the fitting in a horizontal position or vertically down to ensure the conductive surface area is always in full contact with the water and avoids trapped air in the plumbing.
- Bonding Wire: You must supply a solid #8 AWG copper bonding wire to connect this fitting to the main equipotential bonding grid using the included split-bolt connector.
- Tightening: Do not over-tighten the fitting into PVC plumbing, as this can crack the plastic receptor. Hand-tighten plus two turns is generally sufficient.
