Product Description
The TORK 1109A-P 24-Hour Mechanical Time Switch is a high-capacity, 40A automation solution for demanding pool, spa, and industrial loads. Featuring a DPST configuration and a universal 120–277V motor, it is specifically designed to manage high-voltage pumps and heaters. Housed in a heavy-duty, rainproof NEMA 3R plastic enclosure, this timer provides maximum protection against rust and corrosion in harsh outdoor or chemical-heavy environments.
Key Features
- Universal Multi-Voltage: Auto-sensing high-torque motor supports 120V, 208V, 240V, and 277V applications.
- 40A Heavy-Duty Rating: Robust electrical capacity designed for large residential and commercial equipment.
- DPST Safety Switch: Double Pole Single Throw design disconnects both "hot" legs of a 240V circuit simultaneously.
- Corrosion-Proof Case: UV-stabilized gray plastic enclosure is rainproof, lockable, and will not rust or dent.
- 24-Hour Automation: Features easy-to-set ON/OFF trippers for repeatable daily scheduling to reduce energy costs.
- Manual Override: Integrated lever allows for instant equipment testing without disrupting your programmed schedule.

Warnings and Disclaimers
- Electrical Hazard: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect all power sources at the main breaker before installation or service. This unit is intended for permanent installation by a licensed electrician.
- Load Management: Never exceed the 40-amp maximum load. Overloading the timer can result in fire, arcing, and permanent damage to the high-torque motor.
- Voltage Configuration: Ensure the hot leads are connected to the correct terminals based on your line voltage. Wiring errors can instantly destroy the clock motor.
- Enclosure Safety: The NEMA 3R plastic case must be mounted vertically and remain latched to maintain its rainproof rating. Do not install in areas prone to submersion or direct flood paths.
- Rust Resistance: This plastic-housed model is the preferred choice for saltwater pool environments and coastal properties where standard metal Intermatic-style boxes typically rust through within 2–3 years.
- Tripper Security: Use a flat-head screwdriver to tighten the ON/OFF trippers firmly. If left hand-tight, the vibrations from nearby equipment can cause them to loosen, leading to skipped cycles.
- Visual Check: After wiring, look through the small visual motor check window. If the gears are rotating, you have successfully powered the internal clock motor.
- Manual Testing: The silver lever at the bottom left allows you to turn the pump ON for vacuuming or cleaning without disrupting the 24-hour dial position.
