The Jandy Spa Side Remote is a waterproof, low-voltage control puck designed to provide instant access to four user-defined pool and spa functions (Jets, Lights, Air Blower, Heater, etc.) directly from the spa. Safety Warnings & Critical Installation
Low Voltage Only: Never connect this remote to high-voltage power. It is designed only for the 24V DC auxiliary ports on Jandy automation boards.
Conduit Isolation: To prevent electrical interference (crosstalk), the remote cable MUST be installed in its own dedicated 1" PVC conduit. Never pull this cable through a conduit containing 120V/240V equipment wiring.
Chemical Exposure: While waterproof, avoid exposing the face of the remote to concentrated pool chemicals or acid washes during pool resurfacing, as this can cloud the plastic or degrade the button seals.
Winterization: In extreme freezing climates, ensure no water is trapped in the conduit behind the remote, which could expand and crack the housing.
💡 Expert Pro-Tips
- Labeling: Apply the included function labels (Heater, Spa, Light, etc.) to the buttons *before* installing the clear protective cover to ensure they stay straight and dry.
- Cable Pulling: Use wire pulling lubricant for runs over 100 feet. The outer jacket is durable but can stretch or tear if forced through tight 90-degree elbows.
- Sealant: Apply a small bead of 100% silicone sealant around the rear of the mounting flange to ensure a secondary watertight barrier between the spa tile and the conduit.
- Automation Setup: Button assignments are programmed at the main AquaLink® power center. You can set buttons to trigger individual relays or "One-Touch" macro scenes.
