CHEMICAL SAFETY: This is a chemical irritant. Avoid contact with eyes and skin; if contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
STORAGE LIMITS: Store in a cool, dark place (36°F–85°F). Never leave your test kit in a hot car or in direct sunlight, as heat will degrade the reagent quality.
FRESHNESS CHECK: Phenol Red should be a clear, deep red/orange liquid. If it has turned dark brown or contains sediment, it has expired and must be replaced immediately.
💡 Professional Accuracy Tips
- The Vertical Drop: Always hold the bottle perfectly vertical. Holding it at an angle creates smaller drops, which can result in a false-high pH reading.
- Chlorine Interference: If chlorine is above 10 ppm, the indicator may turn dark purple (false-high). Add one drop of R-0007 (Chlorine Neutralizer) before testing pH.
- Standard Protocol: Fill the large test vial to the 44 mL mark, add 5 drops of R-0004, cap, and swirl. Match against color standards immediately.
