Product Description

The Jandy® PureLink™ Salt Chlorine Generator Cell Kit (available in PLC700 and PLC1400 models) is a high-performance replacement system that uses ordinary salt to produce pure chlorine for your pool. Featuring solid titanium plates with precious metal coatings, these kits include a versatile 3-port cell design that offers 90-degree plumbing flexibility and an integrated tri-sensor for accurate real-time monitoring of flow, temperature, and salinity.

Key Features

  • High-Efficiency Output: Capable of producing up to 1.25 lbs of chlorine per 24 hours (PLC1400) to keep pool water sanitized and crystal clear.
  • Hydrodynamic 3-Port Design: Allows for flexible horizontal or vertical installation and simplified retrofitting into existing plumbing.
  • Tri-Sensor Technology: Integrated sensor accurately detects water flow, temperature, and true salinity to ensure optimal performance.
  • Self-Cleaning Plates: Features automatic reverse polarity cycles that help prevent calcium scale buildup, extending the overall cell life.
  • Solid Titanium Construction: Plates are coated with ruthenium oxide and other precious metals for enhanced durability and consistent chlorine production.
  • Automation Ready: Fully compatible with iAquaLink™ and AquaLink® RS systems for remote monitoring and "Boost Mode" control.

⚠️ Critical Safety Warnings

HAZARDOUS GASES: Never operate the cell without verified water flow. Electrolysis in stagnant water results in a buildup of flammable/explosive gases that can damage equipment or cause injury.
CHEMICAL HANDLING: When cleaning with acid, always add acid to water; never add water to acid. Failure to follow this sequence can result in dangerous acid splattering and severe chemical burns.
ELECTRICAL INTERLOCK: The power supply must be interconnected with the pool pump motor. This ensures the cell cannot generate chlorine if the pump is off, preventing heat and gas buildup.
GROUNDING & GFCI: The unit must be properly grounded to a GFCI-protected circuit. Failure to do so creates an extreme risk of fatal electric shock.
💡 Professional Tips for Success
  • The 90-Day Rule: Even with self-cleaning polarity, inspect titanium plates every 3 months for calcium scale. Early detection prevents permanent plate failure.
  • LSI Balance: Maintain a Saturation Index (LSI) of -0.3 to +0.3. Imbalanced water will aggressively corrode ruthenium coatings or cause rapid scaling.
  • Winterization: In freezing climates, the cell and sensor must be drained and removed to prevent the housing from cracking. An optional spool piece can be used for maintenance.
  • What's Included: Kit contains the 3-port housing, ruthenium-coated plates, integrated Tri-Sensor, (2) 2" to 2.5" unions, and factory-attached DC power cable.
PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED: This product must be installed by a licensed professional in accordance with NEC (NFPA-70) or local codes. Improper installation voids all warranties and poses significant safety risks.
WARRANTY VALIDATION: Standard manufacturer warranties require professional installation for validation. Refer to [Jandy Warranty Policy](https://www.jandy.com) for full details.
DATA ACCURACY: Specifications are sourced from official Jandy/Zodiac technical literature. Output performance is dependent on water temperature and flow rates. Always verify current local building codes before installation.
