IntelliChlor Plus40 Salt Chlorine Generator Cell Only 40k gal
The IntelliChlor Plus 40 Salt Chlorine Generator (Cell Only) is the industry-standard solution for automated pool sanitization. Designed for residential pools up to 40,000 gallons, this cell converts ordinary table salt into pure, active chlorine, eliminating the need for manual dosing and harsh chemical handling.
Key Product Features
- Automatic Sanitization: Produces a steady stream of chlorine to keep water silky smooth and crystal clear without the "red-eye" irritation of traditional chemicals.
- On-Cell Diagnostics: Features easy-to-read LED displays for salt levels, cell cleanliness, and water flow, plus a "remaining life" indicator.
- Intelligent Automation: Communicates seamlessly with Pentair IntelliTouch, EasyTouch, and SunTouch automation systems for remote control and monitoring.
- Safety Lockout: Automatically shuts down in low-flow or cold-water conditions to protect the electrolytic plates and ensure user safety.

?? Critical Safety & Maintenance Warnings
ELECTRICAL HAZARD: Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before servicing. Water and high-voltage electronics create a fatal shock risk if handled incorrectly.
LOW FLOW LOCKOUT: The cell features an internal flow switch. Operating the pump at extremely low RPMs may trigger a Safety Lockout, preventing chlorine production.
WINTERIZATION: Chlorine production stops below 52F. In freezing climates, the cell must be removed and replaced with a "dummy pipe" to prevent catastrophic freeze cracking.
?? Professional Maintenance Tips
- Acid Washing: Check for calcium scale every 3 months. Use a 4:1 water-to-muriatic acid mix only when visible white flakes appear on the plates.
- Oversizing Strategy: In hot climates or high-use pools, use an IC40 for pools as small as 20,000 gallons to extend the cell's lifespan and ensure adequate sanitization.
- Diagnostics: Use the on-cell LEDs to monitor "Remaining Life." When the "Cell" light flashes, the titanium coating is nearly depleted.
