Pool Pump Installation Option Details: Covers replacement of an existing pool pump only. Includes up to 5 feet of pipe and 4 fittings for plumbing connections. Electrical work includes connection to the existing electrical cable only — does not include rewiring or running a new cable. Service available in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.

Warnings and Disclaimers
- Electrical Setup: Wiring must be done by a licensed electrician. Although auto-sensing, ensure your breaker and wire gauge are sufficient for the amperage load, especially on 115V circuits.
- Dry Run Warning: Never operate the pump without water in the strainer pot. Running the pump dry will permanently damage the shaft seal within seconds and can melt internal components.
- Entrapment Prevention: All suction outlets must have VGB-compliant covers. Suction side cleaning ports must have a spring-loaded safety cover installed.
- Freeze Protection: The onboard controller features freeze protection, but it requires continuous power and a functioning temperature sensor to operate. In extreme climates, manual draining is recommended.
- Drop-In Retrofit: This pump is designed with the same plumbing height as the Hayward® Super Pump®, meaning you can often swap it out without any major pipe reconfigurations.
- Find the Sweet Spot: Use the "Schedule" mode to run the pump at a very low speed (e.g., 1200-1400 RPM) for 12-16 hours. This keeps the pool cleaner than a high-speed run for 4 hours and uses a fraction of the electricity.
- Lid Maintenance: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the lid O-ring every time you clean the basket. This ensures a 100% airtight seal and prevents the motor from surging due to air leaks.
- Automation Integration: If you use an external automation system, you can use the communication cable (sold separately) to control the VST's speeds remotely from your main panel or smartphone app.
