Installation & Safety Warnings
- Electrical Hazard: Installation must be performed by a Licensed Electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Ensure all power is disconnected before servicing.
- Breaker Compatibility: Use only Jandy-approved circuit breakers (typically Square D QO or similar approved series) to ensure proper fit and safety compliance.
- Grounding: This unit must be properly bonded and grounded to prevent electrical shock and to ensure the longevity of the integrated salt chlorinator electronics.
Pro Tips
- Expansion: If you are adding more than 4 pieces of equipment (e.g., booster pump, extra lights, heater), ensure you purchase additional Jandy 6614-2 High-Voltage Relays for the empty slots.
- Automation Sync: This Power Center is designed to house the AquaLink RS or PDA PCB boards. Always verify your board firmware version if you are upgrading to iAquaLink for smartphone control.
- Surge Protection: Given the sensitive electronics inside for the salt system, installing a Whole-Home Surge Protector at the main panel can save the expensive PCB boards from lightning or power grid spikes.
- Ventilation: While the enclosure is weather-rated, mounting it in a shaded area (away from direct afternoon sun) helps keep the internal transformer and electronics cooler, extending their service life.
