Installation & Safety Warnings
- Highly Flammable: Contains Acetone and Tetrahydrofuran (THF). Keep away from sparks and open flames. Vapors can ignite.
- Ventilation Required: Use only outdoors or in a heavily ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors.
- Primer Recommended: The use of an appropriate primer (E-Z Weld Clear or Purple) is highly recommended for all applications, and required for pipes over 2 inches in diameter.
- Curing: Allow adequate cure time based on pipe size and temperature before pressure testing the system. Refer to the manufacturer's official cure schedule chart.
Pro Tips
- Clean First: Always clean the pipe surface with a dry rag to remove dirt and debris before applying primer and cement.
- Even Coat: Apply a heavy, even coat of cement to the pipe end and a thinner coat inside the fitting socket.
- Twist and Hold: Insert the pipe into the fitting socket and give it a slight twist (1/4 turn) to distribute the cement evenly. Hold the joint firmly for 30 seconds to prevent the pipe from pushing out (the "push out" phenomenon).
- Pressure Testing: For pressure systems, wait at least 6 hours at standard temperatures (above 60°F) before filling the line with water and pressure testing.
