Product Description

Achieve a professional-grade, leak-proof seal for all your PVC piping projects with EZ-Weld / Medium Body Clear PVC Cement (Part No. 410167, UPC 812574101676). This high-strength, fast-acting solvent cement is formulated for joining rigid PVC pipe and socket-style fittings up to 6 inches in diameter across various applications, including pool & spa, irrigation, potable water lines, and drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Medium Body Formula: Offers excellent gap-filling properties, ideal for a wider range of pipe sizes and providing enough working time for precise fitting alignment.
  • Fast-Setting & High Strength: Ensures quick, durable bonds that can withstand pressure and temperature variations common in plumbing and pool applications.
  • Clear, Professional Finish: Dries clear to maintain a clean appearance on exposed plumbing or equipment installs.
  • Versatile Application: Approved for both pressure (Sch. 40 & Sch. 80) and non-pressure systems up to 6" diameter.
  • Certified for Safety: Certified for use on potable (drinking) water systems, ensuring compliance with strict plumbing codes (meets ASTM D2564, NSF Certified, UPC Listed).

Warnings and Disclaimers

  • Flammability: The cement is highly flammable. Keep away from all ignition sources (sparks, open flames, etc.) and use in a well-ventilated area.
  • Health Hazards: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses when handling. Intentional misuse can be harmful or fatal.
  • Priming Required: A proper bond for pressure systems (like pool plumbing) requires the use of a recommended PVC primer. Do not use without primer for pressure applications.
  • Curing Time: Allow adequate cure time before pressure testing. Insufficient cure time can lead to joint failure.

Pro Tips

  • Prep is Crucial: Apply a generous coat of primer to both the pipe and the inside of the fitting to soften the plastic and ensure a strong bond.
  • Application Technique: Apply a heavy, even coat of cement to the end of the pipe and a medium coat to the fitting socket. Insert immediately with a slight twist.
  • Hold Firmly: Hold the freshly joined pipe and fitting together for at least 30 seconds to prevent the "push-back" phenomenon that can compromise the seal.
  • Avoid Over-Gluing: Use an appropriate size pipe/fitting (interference fit) to prevent excess glue from dripping into the pipe and affecting flow or seizing internal valve components.
  • Winterization: Store in a temperature-controlled environment between 45°F and 110°F to maximize shelf life and prevent freezing.
