Warnings and Disclaimers
- Firmware Limitation: The IQ30-A antenna will only function if the host AquaLink RS board is Revision R or newer, or the PDA board is Revision 6.0 or newer. Systems older than 2012 may require a PCB upgrade.
- Network Frequency: This device does not support 5GHz WiFi networks. Attempting to connect to a 5GHz-only SSID will result in connection failure. Ensure your router has a dedicated 2.4GHz band.
- Professional Installation: Incorrect wiring of the 4-pin connector to the red terminal block on the main PCB can cause permanent damage to the module and the pool control system.
- Data Security: Use WPA2 encryption for your network. iAquaLink modules on open or outdated WEP networks are vulnerable to unauthorized access.
- Outdoor Placement: While water-resistant, the antenna should never be submerged or mounted in a location where water pools. Avoid mounting behind metal siding or stucco with wire lath, as this will block the signal.
- Wired Connection: For the most stable experience, especially if your pool is far from the house, use the built-in Ethernet port on the IQ30-A rather than WiFi. This eliminates "device offline" errors caused by neighbor interference.
- Hotspot Setup: If the antenna won't connect through the app, toggle the small switch on the bottom of the unit to "Wired" and back to "WiFi" to reset the internal broadcast hotspot.
- LED Status Codes: Pay attention to the internal lights: A solid green light means it's connected to the internet; a blinking red light indicates it can't find your router.
- Signal Mapping: Before permanent mounting, use your smartphone at the equipment pad to verify you have at least 2 bars of 2.4GHz WiFi signal. If not, a WiFi extender may be necessary.
